What I liked most about the treatment is the fact that the nurses and Dr. Nallapati explained in detail exactly what the procedure was about.  During the Procedure you were told exactly what to expect…..sensations, pain and discomfort.  Overall it was an excellent procedure and there is no need to be afraid of doing a root canal.  Saving your teeth is very rewarding.

Pain immediately after treatment; before leaving office was most excruciating…….only worse than labour pain which was intermittent.  This pain made me cry, which I cannot recall having done that in years.  The tooth hurt for one week, surprisingly, and the pain stopped as suddenly as it started.  The tooth still felt sensitive for days after.  I have been totally pain free for about 5 days.  I never expected any pain after the procedure.

Its unfortunate that Ms. Saunders had a painful post operative recovery. It's quite likely due to the pre-operative pain she was experiencing. It is a well proven fact in root canal therapy, patients who have been experiencing pain in the tooth prior to the treatment will take longer time to become pain free postoperatively. Another possibility is the restoration placed in the tooth may be slighty interfering with the occlusion of  teeth. This could be corrected by reducing the chewing surface of the treated tooth. In  majority of the patients postoperative pain from a root canal treatment can be effectively controlled by timely use of antiinflammatory medications. Its highly unlikely to have severe postoperative pain for more than a day or two at the most.

I had bitten down on a bone, cracking a tooth and prompting a visit to the family Dentist. But “horror of horrors” – I needed a ROOT CANAL NOW, IMMEDIATELY. This was so alarming and unnerving I could not even drive myself.

But Natalia, the first contact with your office, was so understanding she immediately calmed my fears and agitation at this unexpected (and I had heard “painful”) procedure. Your nurse Talesha was just as caring. No pain then or later; no pain tablets were necessary and the next day I was back gingerly eating curried chicken. August 2007 - The doctor gave me an explanation of the procedure and calmed my fears. I found the process painless, comfortable and reassuring. The doctor provided a monitor so that I could see what was happening in my mouth. The shield (rubber dam) that was placed in my mouth to prevent fluids and debris from the drilling of the tooth was comfortable. He asked me to breathe through my nose at all times and he repeated that message a couple of times. I found that helpful. Also, he assured me that I could stop and reposition my head at any time too. I found this to exceed my expectations. It never occurred to me that root canal treatment in my calcified tooth could be so easy.

July 2007 - Endodontist, Dr. S. Nallapati and staff were very professional in carrying out the necessary dental procedures. Having registered at the Front Desk, I was accompanied to the room and prepared prior to the arrival of Dr Nallapati. If I had any anxieties at all, these were quickly eliminated and instead, were replaced with a feeling of assurance and confidence that the procedure would be short and painless.

As Dr Nallapati reviewed the x-ray slides given to me by my dentist, Dr. Robert Weathers, for referral, listened to my concerns and did another x-ray, he provided me with much information on what he would be doing before and during the procedure. I seemed to have had an infection at the root of the tooth which needed attention. Dr. Nallapati reinforced the fact that I would be fine while undergoing the procedure but that there could be slight pain as he applied the antibiotic treatment close to the bone. Although I was not given any form of anesthetic, I must say the pain was not unbearable. This treatment would remain for three to four weeks.

Upon my return for completion of the Root Canal, I appreciated not having to undergo any form of anesthetic and yet the procedures were absolutely painless.

Overall, the quality of treatment was superb with good patient care and the use of state-of-the-art equipment and dental techniques. The environment and staff were pleasant. I am confident that other patients could benefit from the excellent dental care at Advanced Endodontics.

Just wanted to keep you updated on what eventually happened with regard to treatment of my tooth. I went to Dr. Reva Morgan in Mandeville for regular cleaning and spoke to her about the resorption. She referred me to Dr. Sashi Nallapati. He’s a well-known and highly regarded Endodontist who practices in Ocho Rios . He did post-grad work at NSU in Davie and is an adjunct professor there.

I went to see Dr. Nallapati today. He’s very good. He makes extensive use of the latest in dental technology. All his x-ray images go straight to his computer and I could see close up images of everything he was doing on a screen as he was working. He was excellent at explaining how the resorption occurs and the possible treatments depending on the nature and extent of the resorption. I felt very comfortable and was very impressed.
